After Cora had spoken to the Captain and crew telling her story, she asked to see the dead clones, to give them a funeral. Latwo, L231 wished to see her lost child, her Dide. The Captain felt this would be a good way of closure for her and Cora; so he had the black pods put in the bio-garden, open for a viewing.
The clones stood in a circle around the pods looking at their fellow clones and the tiny little clone no more than 20 lb, a baby still.
Latwo stood and picked Dide up, holding her to her breast crying, than she began to sing. The pitch was so high it was hard to hear the words. Tj opened his mind to her and felt the words she was saying. My child, go with Spirit, join and be one. We are so few and we need you. As she sang a whirlwind of color slowly started to form around the pods. Latwo’s voice got higher; Tj could no longer hear her words only sound.
Then all was quiet, Tj could see the pods were all now empty. The child Latwo had been holding was gone. As he looked at the haggard faces of the living clones he saw all of their tattoos were gone. Then he saw the child, Dide, she was alive, reborn as a newborn infant in Latwo's arms, and she had her mother's rainbow eyes and opalescence skin.
Then he saw all of the butterflies, every color of the rainbow, everywhere in the bio-garden, this was new they had not added any insect life to the bio-garden, yet.
He looked closer at the clones they all looked flushed, ready to pass out. One by one they started to collapse, as each hit the grass, butterflies converged and covered the unconscious clones.
Tj started to call a medical team when the clones started to pass out, but it appeared they might not be needed.
A single butterfly came to him; he raised his hand for to it land on, he heard in his mind. We are called Spirit, we are part of Latwo and her species, she is not like the others, she wishes us to live and give of our energy to your people, as it is needed. She says you may call on us, if you have need of our help.
Tj looked around to see butterflies landing on everyone in the bio-garden. He pathed, back to the tiny creature, You are most welcome on my ship.
Latwo was standing in front of him when he looked up, her smile made his heart jump "Latwo thank you for the gift of these butterflies, they are most welcome."
Latwo had awoken to this new life in the sickbay; all her children were safe, only one had died, to be reborn threw Spirit. This man had saved her, she called to his soul when she was lost and alone and he was there for her. In her heart she new he would be there from now on.
